USMC ILBE Rucksack Backpack
The MARPAT ILBE (Improved Load Bearing Equipment) Rucksack Main Pack was designed by the USMC to replace the MOLLE II rucksack as the long-haul pack offering better weight distribution. Made of very durable 720 denier fabric the ILBE Pack is able to carry 120lb of gear comfortably due to its’ internal aluminum frame stays, adjustable shoulder straps, well-padded structured waist belt, and kidney pad. The outside of the pack has PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) and can accommodate MOLLE pouches as needed for extra room and organization.
The main pack is 4500cu and offers the ability to attach the MARPAT Assault pack and a hydration pack to then use independently. They made the access easy with the top load hood and side zippers so you can access your gear no matter where you stash it. This is a full-featured pack that will serve well in the backcountry for your next hiking mission.
The main difference from the Gen II vs. the Gen I ILBE Rucksack is that the back pad on the Gen II is a bit more structured and supportive however both are made by Propper Industries and very suitable for all uses. The components are not interchangeable so you would need to stick with the correct version for replacement parts. The way to easily distinguish Gen 1 is the black colored back pad and trim material.

Condition Guide
Surplus is real military gear, and the exact conditions may vary. We grade used military surplus to give you options and offer a clearer description. Military gear was built well and used by soldiers proving its tested quality. We hope you find that it serves you well.
Grade 1 Like New: Out of the factory case or may have only minor signs of use or storage marks.
Grade 2 Used: What we call normal used surplus. The gear is fully usable and shows normal signs of use with a lot of life left. Some items may have stains, writing, color fading, repairs, and or surface rust on them. We find that up to a small 1/4” hole or frays does not repair well and do not affect the gears performance.
