Temperature Ratings for Sleeping Bags

Everyone’s metabolism and geo sleeping location is different, and for that reason comfort and Low temperature figures are given for guidance only based on averages.  Sleeping bags are all designed to trap a person’s body heat and minimize external cold from entering.  Snugpak’s performance sleeping bag temp ratings are drawn from over forty years of experience, testing and customer feedback. This comfort figure assumes you will be sleeping lightly clothed such as thermal base layer or light sleeping shirt or pants within a tent on a good quality sleep mat. This in mind, at the max external temperature most users should feel comfortable and get a good night’s sleep. Low temperature ratings are temperatures the sleeping bags have been used at by fit individuals with the minimum of discomfort. There are many variables involved in sleeping bag temperature ratings such as climate, altitude, fitness, and metabolism, even your water intake and recent meal.
