U.S. Issue ALICE Radio Pack, Used

The Genuine U.S. ALICE Pack was designed as the main part of the U.S. Military's All-purpose, Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment in the 1970’s. The only difference with the Radio Pack version is the hook and loop flap in the hood that opens to allow the radio antennas to fit through it and reinforced straps on the internal poncho pocket to hold a large radio.

The Medium size ALICE and Radio Pack can both be used either with or without the frame making it a versatile option for any activity. A frame is required for the larger version.  Designed to hold loads up to 50 lbs when using the frame it is also well organized. There is a main internal pocket, 3 outside pockets and a map or small gear pocket in the hood. A great pack and hard to find item. These do not come with shoulder straps however they are available if you are using the pack without a frame.

Condition Guide 

Surplus is real military gear and the exact conditions may vary.  We grade used military surplus to give you options and offer a more clear description. Military gear was built well and used by soldiers proving its tested quality.  We hope you find that it serves you well. 

Grade 1 Like New:  out of the factory case or may have only minor signs of use or storage marks. 

Grade 2 Used : What we call normal surplus. The gear is fully usable and shows normal signs of use and has a lot of life left. Some items may have stains, writing, color fading, repairs, and or surface rust on them.  We found that up to a small 1/4” hole or fray does not repair well and do not affect the gears performance.  Since surplus ALICE packs are now vintage some may have a interior hood pocket that is ripped and is not repairable unless replaced.  

Grade 3:  ALICE packs in this condition will have a ripped back pad or tear that we feel are not easily repairable.  These repairs may be able to be done or they will have to be used as is.  This grade would be good for a budget item or use other than fully functional in its current condition.
