A.L.I.C.E. Backpack Frame, Optional
U.S. Issue Straps and Belt
The ALICE Frame is a lightweight, high-strength aluminum alloy rack designed to support the Medium or Large ALICE rucksack. We really like that it's made from rugged aluminum instead of plastic, so you don't have to worry about it cracking or snapping in half when things get rough. Features like its rigid aluminum structure and the massive gap it creates for airflow make this frame a lifesaver when you're hauling 60 pounds through high heat and humidity.

Yes, although not designed for it many people have been able to adapt the main rucksack bag of the FILBE and others without making modifications.
Can a MOLLE II sleeping bag carrier be added to an ALICE frame?
The MOLLE Rucksack sleeping bag carrier can be added to a standard ALICE frame. You can also add other modern accessories, such as an Army issue MOLLE fanny/waist pack. The frame is versatile and can be used with many other systems if you have room and can find a way to attach them.
What is an ALICE shelve used for?
An ALICE shelf (All-purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment shelf) is a modular storage component used with military ALICE packs and field gear systems that serves as an external storage platform mounted on the outside of ALICE packs to carry additional gear that won't fit inside or needs quick access.
What's the proper way to load an ALICE pack?
Place heavy items close to your back and centered vertically. Lighter, bulky items go toward the outside. Use the frame's attachment points for external gear like sleeping bags, tools, or water containers.
