The Hults Bruk Spika Hunting and Forest Axe is a versatile backcountry hybrid that handles both heavy chopping and fine carving. It's tough enough for firewood, but precise enough for detailed work, all in a packable size. We like that it doesn't force you to choose between a "chopper" and a "carver." The flat-ground edge is straight enough for detail work but has enough "belly" (curve) to bite deep into wood.
