The U.S. Issue Impermeable nylon shell hood was made for extreme cold weather to wear under a helmet or as a face covering.  Made in 1990's they are never issued vintage and proven to work great.  The full covered ear and face flaps provide unparalleled protection against the wind and cold and can be pulled above your head when not in used.
