The USMC FILBE (Family of Improved Load Bearing Equipment) Pack was designed to be the standard issue upgrade for a Marines load carry system and able to use in conjunction with body armor. Its popularity has also grown to become a great bush craft backpack in civilian life. The big improvement in this pack was a better, more comfortable way to transport heavy loads for active field use. 

The Marine Corps issue FILBE backpack system has a more conventional internal frame with a large quantity of structural back padding and support. The shoulder and heavy duty waist belt/kidney pad are adjustable to almost any size.
