Vintage Issue 1980's Olive M65 Field Jacket
A true Military issue 1980's M65 Field Jacket that was made in olive drab cotton and has not been used since. The OD Field Jacket is well known and has been a hard-to-find item that will be easily noticed as authentic. During the late 80’s and 90’s they changed from a brass zipper to a heavy-duty nylon zipper so that it would be self-mending in the event it became stuck and was easier to repair. The M65 has signature features such as a fold away hood, fold out wind protection in the cuffs, a draw sting at the waist and 4 bellowed pockets along with hand pockets. The m65 is made with 2 layers of fabric as to trap body heat in-between the layers and they also include buttons for a poly filled m65 liner.
Vintage is known as items that that are 20 years old and have the style that represents the time. The tip to reading the original dates on vintage clothing is the “DSA” number that was used mostly during the 50’s to late 80s. The 2 numbers preceding the “C” will tell you the manufacture date.
