The R.A.T (Rough All Terrain) USMC issue boot is manufactured by Wellco, a company that has proven to be innovative in footwear for the military since its inception. The R.A.T boot was originally made for operations in the Afghanistan mountains to take the rough terrain.  The cold weather meaning this boot was designed to be used in snow and ice environments and prevent sole cracking and serve as an all-around boot.
