The Genuine U.S. ALICE Pack was designed as the main part of the U.S. Military's All-purpose, Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment in the 1970’s. The only difference with the Radio Pack version is the hook and loop flap in the hood that opens to allow the radio antennas to fit through it and reinforced straps on the internal poncho pocket to hold a large radio.

The Medium size ALICE and Radio Pack can both be used either with or without the frame making it a versatile option for any activity. A frame is required for the larger version.  Designed to hold loads up to 50-lbs when using the frame, it is also well organized. There is a main internal pocket, 3 outside pockets and a map or small gear pocket in the hood. A great pack and hard to find item. These do not come with shoulder straps however they are available if you are using the pack without a frame.
