The O.T.D. Optimum Traction Device. A simple, ultra-compact femur splint that has smart, color-coded components and takes up almost no space. Made with durability by EP&R (Emergency Product and Research). It packs in a tight 9.5" x 3.5" zippered pouch so it easily slips into a standard trauma box, jump bag, or active shooter kit.
Things we like are the folding snap-out aluminum pole that instantly adjusts for adults or kids. There's no rigid groin bar shoved against the pelvis, so you can pull traction on a patient who also has hip or groin trauma.
The color-coded straps also make it easy to see what goes where when you need to get traction on a leg fast under high-stress conditions. The buckle and strap systems don't slip or bind because they're designed to be rigged in under a minute by a single medic without ever lifting the broken leg. Every piece of this kit solves a problem somebody hit in the field.
