Gen III Silk Weight top is your first layer against the cold. It’s built to use as the base layer against your skin and moves sweat out before it chills you. Stay dry and you stay warm These were made to work as part of the Army ECWCS (Extended Cold Weather Clothing System).
Thumb holes keep the sleeves from riding up when you pull on a jacket or gloves. The long back tail stays tucked when you bend, so you don’t get a cold gap at the waist.
The color is AR 670-1 Coyote Brown, the shade the Army authorizes for wear with the OCP uniform. That keeps your base layer in regs if the collar or cuffs show.
