The complete ALICE pack still works today. This one ships with a woodland medium ALICE radio pack, a USGI frame, and LC shoulder straps and kidney pad. All U.S. surplus, no import parts.
The radio version was built for a field radio operator. Outside, it's the same medium ALICE you know. The changes are all inside, and none of them get in the way of normal use.
There's a divider in the main compartment, similar to the poncho liner pocket but sized for a field radio, with straps to keep it from sliding around. Good for keeping clothing and gear organized. The hood has a hook and loop port that lets an antenna run out the top with the pack shut. There's also a map pocket inside for small items you want fast.
ALICE packs can be used with or without the frame. Made on a government contract. NSN 5895-01-461-4505. The tag inside the hood reads CASE, ELEC-COMMUNICATIONS, US ARMY.
