The U.S. Military Issue Intermediate Sleeping Bag was designed to be used with or without the full Modular Sleep System (MSS). Run it solo down to -10F, or snap it into an issue patrol bag and Gore-Tex bivy when it gets serious (sold separately).
We like the double insulation in the foot box. That's where most bags lose heat, and it's the difference between a decent night and a miserable one. The quilted chest collar seals off drafts and the hood cinches down tight when you need it.
The shell is water-resistant ripstop nylon. The zippers run two-way, so you can vent from inside the bag without getting out of it. Around 85 inches long and 35 wide. This is a solid sleeping bag you can feel.
