FAQ
What are the key features of military backpacks?
What are the main types of military backpacks?
The main types of military backpacks are Day Packs which is called 3 Day Assault Packs, Medium Rucksacks, and Large Rucksacks. We also like how military assault backpacks are frequently made to attach to larger rucksacks to be versatile gear hogs.
What's the difference between a "military backpack" and a "tactical backpack"?
"Military backpack" specifically refers to those issued to or designed for use by armed forces, often adhering to specific military specifications or "mil-spec" standards. All military backpacks are tactical, but not all tactical backpacks are military-issue.
What does "mil-spec" mean in relation to backpacks?
"Mil-spec" is short for "military specification." When applied to a backpack, it means the product is designed and manufactured to meet specific performance and quality standards set by the DOD branch. Be careful, many overseas commercial items are now adapting that name of mil-spec that are not and can be misleading. Look for U.S. Made or Military Issue to be sure.
