Gen III Silk Weight bottoms are your first layer against the cold. They’re built to use with the Army’s ECWCS (Extended Cold Weather Clothing System). The thin base layer that sits against your skin and moves sweat out before it chills you. Stay dry and you stay warm.
You sweat when you work hard, even at 20 degrees. Cotton holds that moisture against you, and wet skin loses heat fast. These Poly thermals helps to move it out, which is the whole job of Level 1.
The color is AR 670-1 Coyote Brown, matches the shade the Army authorizes for wear with the OCP uniform. That keeps your base layer in regs if any of it shows.
